Any advice plz? I was wanting to purchase some home gym equipment… lateral thigh trainer or cross trainer?

March 122010

what gives the best result? anyone used these before?

probably a cross trainer. buying a piece of equipment that only focuses on a few muscles rarely works to loose overall body fat.

The King of The No Equipment Workout – AthLEAN X Show

March 102010

http://www.athleanx.com In a slight departure from the workouts I’ve been bringing to you free week after week, I had to stop and show you something this week that absolutely blew my mind. This guy…I’ll call him the “Man of Steel” (he works at a steelyard) sent in a video of him performing a pushup…that blew me away so much that I had to go out and see him first hand! The guy’s strength is unbelievable! I wanted to show this to you and show you how with little to no equipment, you too can get great results in your very own home gym doing the same types of exercise. Now, my AthLEAN-X Training System is also a workout system that can be done either in the gym with lots of equipment, or at home with the home gym little to no equipment necessary version of the workout.

If you haven’t seen this pushup before…it’s crazy. If you have never tried this pushup variation before, be careful when you do. It’s very intense. You have to build up to this and it’s not for novice weight trainers.

In my travels, I have seen some crazy feats of strength, but this one is definitely at the top of my list. As you might know, I write regularly for Men’s Fitness Magazine, was the physical therapist and strength coach for the New York Mets for the 2006,2007, and 2008 seasons…..and I continue to work as a celebrity fitness trainer working with some of the top professional athletes and celebrities in the world today. As you can imagine I’ve seen some great workouts and some great physiques. This guy….the “Man of Steel” almost tops them all. Not only that, but did I mention….this guy is 47 years old?!?! It’s amazing.

Pass this video on to everyone you think would find this either amazing or just downright cool! In the meantime, for a workout system based on the same muscle building principles as in this exercise head to http://www.athleanx.com and grab your copy of the AthLEAN-X Training System now!

Best at home gym equipment?

March 102010

So i worked out all summer but now that school has started im arlready getting out of shape and i dont have time to go to the gym so i need some stuff for my house. I dont have a whole lot of room, so what types of things would be the best to have? Like would small a barbell dumbell set be the best, or just a pull up bar, or some random free weights? I am almost 17 and i am not the strongest but i would probably need weights from like 25lbs for curls to like 70lbs for chest type stuff.
Any advice on home gym equipment would be great too.

thnx!

All you need is a jump rope and a set of re-ajustible dumbbells. To lose weight I recommend jump roping in the morning on an empty stomach for around 5-10 minutes. I say this because you haven’t eaten anything for at least 8 hours so your body will tap into your fat stores as energy instead of having to burn through carbs first. As for gaining muscle with the dumbbells, just go to bodybuilding.com for some tips and great exercising videos. Hope I helped and good luck!

Home Gym Equipment (Suggestions)?

March 82010

I am thinking of purchasing home gym equipment. One machine (preferably) that would work all the muscle groups (particularly arms and tummy) and something that could easily be stored away in a cupboard or under a bed.

Can anyone recommended a name brand / type?. I’m fairly new to this and the choice out there is overwhelming.

I would try a body ball and yoga and pilates videos. You don’t have to buy tons of equipment because these can give you the same tone through resistance.

I bought some home gym equipment, then I bought more, then I got the Body for Life manual, I still cant start.

You dont want it bad enough, send it back, you will be one of those people who hang clothes on their gyms and get fatter each year. Mr anderson then died of a heart attack 14 years later, his home gym in his garage was rusty and un-used.

Good luck.

Serious answers only please! Home gym equipment?

March 62010

My husband needs to build muscle, and I just want to stay toned and on my weightloss program. Husband sits on the couch, and I was going to a gym (contours express) but they closed this weekend with no warning to any of the members. We got a letter in the mail today. My question is….given our fitness goals, what do you recommend as far as home gym equipment? Bowflex? Total Gym? Other?

Free weights give the most bang for the buck!

Where is a cheap website that I can buy home gym equipment like a Bowflex or a Weider Crossbow?

March 42010

You probably could try craigslist in your area. There is always home gym equipment on sale in the area near me.

Does anyone own a Bow Flex home gym or equipment? I need to know if its a good investment.?

March 22010

I used to lift heavy free weights in my 20’s, but I’m 40 now, and I’m not so interested in building size and muscle as I am toning and getting stronger. Is Bow Flex right for me?

‘ve owned one, for ~3 years, & i’ve been overall happy with it.
It’s a bit bulky, but it’s a great machine. I’d reccomend getting it, as it flat out keeps you in shape.
