Are home gyms a waste of money?

March 102010

Posted in home gyms | 5 Comments »

Have you ever noticed how many home gyms are for sale on Craigslist? It is amazing. And yet people keep buying them new. I know of not one person who has ever used a home gym for any length of time. It usually gets converted into a clothes rack. The funny thing is they expect buyers to come over, dismantle the thing, and then PAY for seller for it. If I’m coming over and dismantling your contraption, you better not expect a dime from me. But people try to squeeze every penny out of a resale, which is super annoying. I think a better alternative would be a dumb bell set, and dumb bell bench, don’t you?

TIt takes hours to put it together.he first week you use it. The second week you show it to your friends. A week goes by; you use it again now you are ready to put it in the garage. You are still paying for it. Then you try to sell it. Then it goes to the good will.

Is it better to join a gym or set up some gear at home?

Ive been latley thinking about joining a gym, which could end up costing around $50-$60 a month but have a near empty garage at home, and have seen some cheap second hand weight benches and home gyms. any ideas on which is worth it more?? i cant decide.

I personally do better at a gym. If I set up things at home I just look at them a think that I’ll get to them letter. With a gym membership, I have somewhere to be. It’s a part of the routine. You see people you know. Plus, your paying for it monthly so that is motivation in itself. I am also more motivated if I belong to a really nice gym. It’s more inviting and makes you ant to go there more.

Home Gyms: BodyCraft or BodySolid?

March 82010

Posted in home gyms | 1 Comment »

I am interested in the BodySolid EXM3000LPS and BodyCraft K1 home gyms and I’m looking for first-hand accounts (not links to sites, unless they are reviews) from people who use these gyms and what they like and dislike about them. Some questions:

Does the machine give a full-body workout or do certain muscle groups feel neglected? If so, which ones?

Are there a good variety of exercises or is it fairly limited?

How difficult was the gym to put together? How easy is it to operate?

Do you feel that the gym has enough weight/resistance that you will still be challenged by the gym many years from now or do you consider this a stepping stone to a more intense home gym?

Is there anything in particular you wish you had known about the gym before you bought it?

Can you really do squats using the BodyCraft K1 or do you find yourself relying more on free weights for squats?

Feel free to add more information if you feel there is something else worthy of mentioning. Thank you.

I need help with Home Gyms?

March 62010

Posted in home gyms | 4 Comments »

My family and I are looking for a home gym that gives great and fast results, but that is also reasonable in price. Any ideas?

Nothing will get you fast results, only great ones.

The total gym is what I suggest (you know, the one Chuck Norris helps advertise on tv). Not only will it help strengthen your muscles, it is also a therapeutic and rehabilitation machine for when you injure yourself.

What is better Bowflex Blaze or Bioforce Home gym or other home gym?

March 42010

Posted in home gyms | 1 Comment »

I used to have free weights but they are too bulky and I was never able to push the limits because I never had anyone to spot me. I know you cant get the same work out from a machine as you can from free weights but it is the same principal; instead of gravity and a weight providing resistance a machine can simulate the same kind of resistance. My question is what is the best home gym? I have a budget of roughly $800.00 and the two gyms I am currently looking at are the Bowflex Blaze and the Bioforce home gym. What’s better? Bowflex looks good but I hear that the power rods eventually loose their elasticity over time and I tried both out at a store and it didn’t seem like it was consistent resistance from start to finish. Bioforce on the other hand seemed to provide pretty consistent resistance through start to finish but I am concerned about the hydraulics because it will be in my garage and it gets cold, hot (45 degrees in the winter and 90 in the summer) and dusty in my garage and I am concerned how that will affect the hydraulics. What do you think; are they good, or is there something better out there? I want to have a machine that can hit all the muscle groups but has a small footprint.

Get a rack and you can go to your limit safely with free weights.

Is The Key To A Great Body Great Home Gym Fitness Equipment?

March 42010

http://cybermedicinestore.com/is-the-key-to-a-great-body-great-home-gym-fitness-equipment/ Selecting great home gym fitness equipment is vital to your success in maintaining a healthy body. There are various things to look at when shopping for your body fitness equipment. It is also significant to note that each piece of physical exercise equipment is important in its own way.

For example you will have to look at price at least somewhat when you are looking for new and better home gym exercise equipment. You only have so much money to drop on your equipment and regrettably, you cannot spend what you do not have. Even credit cards only go up so high right? You dont want to contribute to the evergrowing credit debacle do you? Thus, start out looking for fitness equipment within your budget range and you will be very fortunate.

It is a good idea to go into each storehouse with a clear idea of how much money you have to spend on your equipment. This means you can just require the person helping you to show you only the fitness equipment that is in this price range. This will keep you from feeling negative about the great exercise equipment that you cannot buy and the equipment that you can buy will look that much greater to you as a result.

When researching for the top option in the home gym category, you may want to look at the EXM1500S. It has all the features you want for a perfect toning, trimming and strength training program at home. For just twenty minutes a day, three times a week, you can trim down and firm up in your own home, on your own schedule. Leave the gym membership dues, long lines and that locker room smell. Utilizing the EXM1500S can lead you to a firmer lifestyle, save you time and save you money. This gym is centered on a 160 Lb. weight stack, adjustable in 10 Lb. increments, stacked neatly without plates and bars separated about. Simply slip in a pin and set about. While set on the firm, oversized adjustable seat pad you can start by grabbing the multi grip press arm and work on your chest and shoulders, then wrap your legs over the comfortable foam rollers to rip through a set of thigh burning leg extensions. Your next option is to take hold of the Ab Strap and crunch your way to a washboard stomach. The EXM1500S gives you more for your money than any other home gym on the market.

You also need to have a complete image of what your goals are. When you are browsing in the fitness equipment storehouse ask the workers what they feel might be the optimal option for what you want to accomplish. They should have a good estimation of what exercise equipment is top-quality for what part of the body.

There are numerous varieties of exercise equipment, for instance there are free weights and there are machines that are all connected as one piece. Which of these types of fitness equipment should you prefer for your ultimate health needs either for you and/or your family? If your primary goal is just to bulk up then you will want to pick out free weights because these will be more for this type of goal. On the other hand, you will get more exercise choices with a machine as your main piece of exercise equipment. In addition, free weights as your main kind of fitness equipment can grow to be quite a headache, as you have to take bits on and off all of the time. Ultimately, the choice is yours when choosing the kind of home gym fitness equipment you are most comforted with is your greatest option.
